An osprey was busy hunting in the marsh to feed its new chicks when an eagle perched nearby, waiting for an opportunity. As soon as the osprey caught a fish, the eagle swooped in, attacking the osprey and forcing it to drop its catch. Though the eagle missed the fish on its first dive, it circled back and successfully snatched the meal, taking it home to feed its own young. During nesting season, the competition for food can be intense, especially for ospreys contending with opportunistic eagles.
